Due to boredom, or insanity... Or some unstable combination of both, I enrolled in STAT131: Understanding Variation and Uncertainty at the University of Wollongong. Making me a fifth year student, in a first year course. My first class is in 2 hours from now, all I have to do is work out where to park my bike. $32/yr parking fees for the win! Timetable follows;

Tuesday 10:30am – 12:30pm
Thursday 09:30am – 10:30am

I've been writing a lot of AJAX with both JQuery and PHP, so much in fact that I've become the corporate AJAX guru, and I'm now leading a project to convert some non-mission critical applications over to the new technology stack, mostly to get everyone's feet wet. And implementing some of the mission critical ones myself.

I've been attempting to being an exercise regime into my day, mostly so I don't embarrass myself at rock climbing, and because it makes me feel slightly better being able to walk upstairs with little actual effort. So at the moment, it consists of 20 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 20 chin-ups (That's a lot of -ups). But I believe a walk which shall become a jog is in order, but I need running shoes before I get that far (running in climbing slippers hurts like a slut).

A great deal (and yet not even half) of my possessions have been moved in to my new unit. I've packed them all in their place, so that I can get around to sanding the freaking walls. But alas, that final step has me stuck. I do really like the new colour scheme, it's nice an institutional, I feel right at home. But mostly separating my sleep and work (bedroom and office) spaces left me feeling better. Mostly because now I fall asleep, because I don't sit in bed all night on the computer working or stuffing around. That occurs in the office, on a remarkably uncomfortable chair.

My motorcycle is holding together nicely, although it's 4000 Kms overdue for it's first service. And the chain is rather damaged from my lack of attention. But I'll get all that fixed when I can, at the moment I'm only riding about 5 Km a day (using $10 of petrol every three weeks I might add), so I'm not in a hurry.

So, that about wraps it up. I'm looking for people to come and visit me, and mostly for climbing partners, reliability is the most important attribute here, ability is unimportant. So if you want to go climbing, indoor or outdoor (Trad and Sport), drop me a line. Also feel pretty free to just visit.

(Why do I have cats as my mood icons?)
I've been relatively happy these last few days, mostly to do with settling into my house, and finally moving more that my bed in.

I finally got to go climbing on Saturday, which was fun, got to get outdoors soonish or I might lose my abilities. All my climbing gear is now down in Wollongong now, so I really have no excuse.

Anyways, I better get back to work.

Could I get any older.

Painted some rooms over the weekend.

Readers may or may not know that I ride a motorcycle. A Honda CBR125R 2007 model to be exact. I happen to come off it yesterday. Going a round a roundabout at low speed and leaning into the turn, at which point the bike simply tipped over. Not a scratch on it (Apart from the crash knobs, but that is the purpose of their existence), I sustained a few cuts and bruises, but nothing major. Apart from my wrist sounding like bubble wrap.

Other motorcycle related hilarity, Don't forget your winter jacket... because rain at 8am, is FUCKING cold... And riding at 110 Km/h, adds a windchill you don't want to know about.

Anyways, I'm still alive, the purchase of my home should be finialised this week! Everyone is finally ready to settle. Which means it's almost key time, then party time, then oh my god, where did all my money go time. It'll be fun.

Housing update.

Well, I dropped in my deposit, and I should have the keys to my new unit by Monday I'm told. Then I can move my bed and that's about it down, and start living there. ADSL 2+ of course... Duh!

It's a worry when...

Henceforth, I shall be known as Christopher Beckett, Resurrector of Servers! For I have achieved greatness this night.

My nephew turns 1 on Tuesday! Yay!

Things learnt today

Take your retainer OUT before you take your pills, because if it comes loose mid swallow, the gagging that ensues isn't very dashing.
